Apr 6, 2021 at 17:15 comment added Joachim @fixer1234 Yeah, I think that is quite a controversial statement, but as I hint at in my answer I really feel it's a good rule of thumb in the oil paint world, especially when it comes to well-established brands. I do certainly agree it's quite terrible advice in general, ironically especially when it comes to brands.
Apr 6, 2021 at 17:13 comment added fixer1234 Good answer, but I have to disagree with the first sentence. You pay for what you get but you don't necessarily get what you pay for. i.e., "better" will cost more but costing more won't necessarily mean better. :-)
