I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, and if it isn't I'd really appreciate being directed to the right place, because I can't find anywhere else! :)

Around 1965 my father got into art and did a large number of paintings, mainly coping artwork from books.

We recently found one of his paintings, a landscape, and he'd love to remember what it's a copy of.

Any ideas would be very appreciated. He's spent hours looking through books, and Google Images with no luck.

  • Hi Josey, as you anticipated in your post, this is indeed not the right place for this kind of question. There is no Stack Exchange sister website I'm aware of that allows for it. But there is the Reddit group WhatIsThisPainting where you can try it. Good luck!

  • Thanks you both. My father wondered if it was a Cézanne, but can't see any that are close enough. I'll go and try on WhatIsThisPainting.
